Windows 2000 Professional freezes up during Install....please help!

Unable to install Windows 2000 Professional. Always freezes up during the final phase of install. Have tried several times with the same result. This is a dual boot with Win 98 SE & Win 2000 Pro on a brand new hard drive with separate partitions. Please help. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Try to copy the whole CD onto the harddisk, somewhere on the W98-partition, boot into W98 and install W2K from HD, in the new partition. Perhaps do a quick format of the new W2K partition with FAT32 before you start.

The install-CD might also be dirty or have a scratch, gently clean the shiny surface with a mild detergent and some water, making circular movements while cleaning. Dry with a lintfree cloth.
