Windows 2000 Professional -- My Computer folder keeps opening - 50+ copies of itself

Not sure if it's a virus or what. I didn't plan on stripping the system down for a refresh to resolve this so thought to ask here first. What is happening is that once the system boots up, everything appears fine until you move the mouse. As soon as you move the mouse, "My Computer" will open and duplicate itself over and over and over. Next thing you know, when you look at the Task Manager I now see "My Computer" opened at least 50 times and still continueing.

Anyone had this problem before? If so what did you do to resolve it? I don't have anything important on the PC thankfully as I just did a reload a few weeks ago (stupid spyware killed everything) and it's such a pita to do so

Have you installed any mouse-drivers, other than the standard W2K built-in?
Try to uninstall them, then just load the W2K-ones.

No, I am an *****! LOL. The explorer key was stuck on my keyboard. I had a itch to check all the keys out on my keyboard and found it depressed. Just lovely =) Was enough to drive me crazy.
