Myself, I think you installed the wrong driver and this has screwed things up. I'd crack on with trying other drivers directly from the Broadcom site. If you have 64 bit Windows 7 make sure you aren't selecting 32 bit versions of the driver. If that got me nowhere, in the absence of other suggestions, I'd reinstall Windows. Once that's done consider upgrading to the current OS namely Windows 10. I'd recommend you do it now but unfortunately the system is no longer stable enough to handle the long upgrade path without crashing.
 
Have you tried a system restore point. To a time when you did not have this problem. This may help.
 
Not having a restore point kind of puts a damper on things. Plus you say you can not roll back the driver. Have you tried going to the laptops support site and finding the driver. That belongs to your make and model.
