  1. Hi, i am trying to fix a computer that i believe has a registry problem/ and or virus. When i boot it up, everything is fine, untill i log in. For a few seconds the computer runs fine, then it just hangs. The mouse still moves, but you cannot do anything. I have an external Hard drive, but it is no recognised in Safe Mode, and when i go to repair the install of XP. I do not have the option to repair it. All i need is the My Documents, and I can reformat it. Any Help?

If i don't see the repair option, and if i continue with the install without reformatting will the My Documents be erased?
