Windows doesn't load at startup - directly loads BIOS setup!

Hey guys! I'm new here and have a really serious problem in my friend's computer!
My friend told me that he opened some king of game (.exe file probably) played it for a while then his computer suddenly restarted itself. However, the problem is that since then his computer doesn't seem to load the Windows startup screen and instead it loads the BIOS setup screen directly after turning the computer on. (It doesn't seem to even try to load the Windows Boot.ini file).
It just shows the motherboard splash screen with a message "Loading Setup..." and then enters the BIOS setup in few seconds.

Do you know anything about this problem? Please help!

Thanks in advance!

maybe the CMOS battery is dead and it is trying to get you to set the date?

Boot from a Windows XP CD and go into Recovery Console and run c: /fixboot

The problem is that it's not booting from the Windows XP CD! I changed the BIOS settings so it boots from the CD drive inserted my bootable copy of win XP pro and it still enters the BIOS first!
