Windows Hangs Up

By fangjangler

  1. Hello,

I keep randomly getting system hangs when closing windows...it only happens sometimes though. If I reboot it works perfectly. I checked my CPU temp and it was running around 40C last time it happened.

    Here are my system specs:
    AMD 64 X2 4200+
    nVidia GeForce 7300GT 512MB
    2 GB RAM
Windows XP Pro SP 2(just reformatted from Vista)
    X-Fi Xtreme Music
    New 550W PSU

It is probably a driver issue that is causing this hang... NVIDIA video

I updated my nForce and processor and it seems to be better, hopefully it is all better. :)

Yeah, it started it again...I can surf the net FINE but when I close a window...it hangs.

But I think it's only when I close a FireFox window! Nope...I opened My Computer and it hung up when I closed it.

boot into safe mode and use the pc for a while, redo anything that was causing the pc to hang before, then we can isolate a sevice that may be causing this or any system file that needs to be repaired
