Windows installer cannot be accessed

When I try to install some things, eg AdobeRdr I get the error "The windows installer service cannot be accessed etc"

I read that, did both methods. Neither worked.

I tried to installed the "Windows Installer cleanup utility". But guess what. THAT PROGRAM NEEDS WINDOWS INSTALLER TO INSTALL TOO !!!


What to do? I'm quite pizzedz0rs!

Check the Windows Installer service (Control Panel - Administrative Tools, Services) is running. It should be set to manual or automatic. Also check the dependency Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running.

if you are running XP put our XP disk in your drive and open a command prompt. type sfc /scannow this will run system file checkrer and it will replace any damaged or missing system files.
