Windows Media Player and Network Connection

Well my problem is that everytime I download a Windows Media Player video, my internet connection is lost. I have no clue why this is happening, and if anyone has any experience with this and can suggest some helpful solutions that would be great.

- By the way, I am connected to the internet through my parent's router, and I have a Linksys Wireless G Adapter.

- I have the 4th one from the top, in the middle row.
