    Hi,
    After reinstalling windows XP I updated to msn messenger 6.0 and now I can't seems to remove the built in windows messenger 4.7.
    I remember there was a thread about this some time ago but I tried searching without success.
    Anyone remember how to really remove it?

    Microsofts "removal" method really does nothign more than hide it. but the process is to remove it thru the add/remove in the control panel. choose the add/remove windows components.

    a better way is to use XP anti-spy.
