I have just finished building my Pc it is was a very unlucky build (lots of errors) but they are all fixed now. One of the main problems was conflicting boot drives. I soon realised that this was something to do with EIDE and IDE conflicting. But now i cannot get windows to reconise either my DVD Rw/CD rw drive or my DVD rom/CD rom dirve.
Also bios only detects the ROm drive.
Here are the specs:

ASUS P5LD2 motherboard
2gb ram DDR2
30.ghz p4
360gb HDD
Gigabyte (brand name) DVD ROM drive
LG Dual layer DVD rw drive
Nvidia 6600 G card

PLease HELP!!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Make sure the jumpers on your optical drives are set correctly. One should be set to master, and the other one set to slave both on the same ide channel.

If they are already set right, try swapping the drives over. I.E the one that is now master make it the slave, and visa versa.

Try a different ide cable.

The drive that is master should be connected at the end of the ide cable, with the other drive connected to the connector that is part way down the cable.
