Windows Vista non responsive after 2-3 minutes

I have a Windows Vista and recently changed to a brand new hard drive, but not soon thereafter the computer started freezing( nothing will respond or open, etc after a couple minutes of run time) I've tried using programs to clean it up but still cant figure out the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

PS it works fine in safe mode.

"PS it works fine in safe mode"... Since minimal drivers are loaded inside Safe Mode, this always points to a driver issue. Are there any yellow (!) in the device manager

There are not. it worked fine for awhile and then just started having this issue. already been through the malware/virus troubleshoot
