Windows XP Going insanely slow

OK i've been suffering from this problem for months now and now I've had to sit a Lan Party out because i didn't want people to see how slow my computer is running... it never used to run this slow but now it is... Here's what's running according to that pcpitstop site:

dam. look at all that shiit u got running at the same time.

do they all start when the computer starts?

go to start, run.. type msconfig. click on the startup tab on the top and uncheck everything except you antivirus and firewall

Download and run CCleaner or the Disk clean up utility and take out the junk that might be choking the HDD. Analyze for fragmentation, if needed defragment after the cleanup and chkdsk to improve speed and performance.
Ensure the system clean of nasties. Add more RAM if ur running on less ( 512 and more wud be good) some links
