  1. i used a program called "starter" to disable some programs from starting up when windows starts. im not sure if thats the cause of my problem, but now i start my comp, and after the black 'windows xp' screen it comes to a login screen with my display pic and my login name next to it (never did this before), i click on it, and it logs me in, and then logs me out after a few seconds..... it never did this before. does anyone know what to do?

Boot in Safe Mode (F8 after machine starts up) and set everything back to normal. You probably stopped something you shouldn't have.
If that doesn't work you might have to use the recovery cd to repair XP.
