Hi there I new here and thought you may be able to help me I just fixed my pc from a corrupted boot.ini and now my login screen is stuck on the classic version where you type in the username and password when it meant to be set up on the click picture version. I clicked "Change the way users log on and off" and check the "Use the Welcome Screen" check box. But that didnt work and i also checked the regedit and it set to the version I want but it still showing the classical version.

And for some reason the sidebar that is normally on the left hand side of a window when you’re viewing files in folders is missing as well.in the General tab of the folder options click the "Show common tasks in folders" is selected but it doesnt work

I tried a system restore (didn’t work) any ideas (help)?

thanks

You have it running BUT badly. While it is, copy off anything of importance to cd or whatever then just '0' write and re-format/install.

Sometimes the time spent in 'fixing' is > the time to reinstall.

Ya know?

IMHO anyway.
