  1. i don't know when/how this happened....but i was going to search for a file...it gave me an error message "A File that is requred to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup"

so then i tried to defrag, it gave me the error message "MMC cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\sytem32\dfrg.msc, This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file."

i can't get into any admin tools either, any help? i don't really want to format, is there a way i can reinstall windows without losing programs and stuff... thanks
