Windows XP reinstall issue

I had to reinstall XP, so using the setup disk I went about halfway through the install, my computer stalled. so i figured i might as well restart the whole damn comp. After this tragic decision, every time i boot it says that Setup is being restarted.... then goes to a blank screen with nothing but my mouse pointer in the middle of the screen. Any Ideas?

do u get the chance to boot from cd once u have done this? if so start over and reformat and start over with a new install.

nope, it doesnt get to that screen even, it just says install is restarting and goes blank.
