Windows XP restarts while using Nero 6

Hi All,

I am a new member to this forum. I am having trouble burning DVD's with Nero 6 Ultra Edition on my Laptop having Windows XP SP2.

1. Some times as soon as I click on Nero from my Program Files , system shows a blue screen and goes in a flash and restarts. I could see the key word 'Physical Memory Dump' on that.

I think this is particularly happening when there is an empty DVD prior to starting nero.

2. I tried to start Nero first and then inserted the empty disc , its again the same , a blue screen and system restarts.

I have recently free'd lot of memory on my hard disk, I have about 25 gb free space on a 55gb hard disk. I have run the defrag also.

earlier couple of times i have seen the message ' System has recovered from serious error' and the below details are displayed.

Please help me in idnetifying the problem !.

Thanks in Advance
Jonam

It may well be a hardware issue (CD drive, memory etc), but it's certainly worth trying some different burning software as a workaround. Try the freeware CDBurnerXP Pro. It burns, rips, and does a hot of other things without Nero's bloat:

If it still does it with this software, then either it's something in Windows itself, or it's hardware. If it works, then most likely it's a Nero issue.

Attach the following mindump.

Hi cpc2004 !

Thanks for your response !.

I want to know more details which you found out of the minidumps I have posted !.

Do you think , the latest version of any dvd could be the problem ? If yes in what way is this interrupting Nero?

I have been using any dvd since an year, never had problems with nero before.

Around last week of november'06 I have first encountered this problem.. ( probably I would have updated anydvd to newer version.(currently I have any dvd 6.0.8.5)

Please do let me know if you have noticed any other serious problems from the minidumps I posted.

I need your advice, whether I could still go ahead and use 'anydvd' or its unsafe to do so ?

Thanks
Jonam

Your latest 3 minidumps are crashed by AnyDVD and the TIMESTAMP of AnyDVD.sys is 45577233 (ie Mon Nov 13 03:12:51 2006). Use the previous version of AnyDVD resolves the blue screen problem. It is your decision whether to de-install or downlevel AnyDVD.
