windows xp start up issues

  1. when i turn on the computer the windows logo and loading bar come s on then the screen goes black and an error message" ordinal 16 blah,blah,blah
    could not load" or some thing like that. any suggestions?

    What does it say? The blah, blah has to tell you something? Do you get blue screen or just black? Also can you go into safe mode and see if you can get in that way? Using the admin login instead..?

    i cant even get i to safe mode,it says some.32 file missin or something

    If you have your Windows XP CD, boot from it and repair your Windows installation. Sounds like some files were deleted/corrupted.

    Those repair feature never worked if you have changed the OS since it was last installed. Like updates.. Better off save what you can on that HD and then start all over again with a fresh install copy of XP..
