Windows XP will not boot no mouse movement

  1. The title pretty well told my problem. XP starts to boot but at the log on screen the mouse will not move it is stuck between users and there it stays.

    Thanks in advance.

    PS I tried to do the repair by the instructions at the top of this page, and now cannot get passed the screen where u have to tell the installation if you want more than just English.

    try a new mouse or check your plug if you have usb try a new port ,if no go come back to see us

    have already tried a different mouse and neither were USB

    since I did not get a reply I decided to format and reinstall Windows. Now I am getting

    "NTDLR is missing"

    What is going on? Have I fried the processor or what?
