hi welcome to techspot forums :)

How about doing a ctrl-alt-delete or ctrl-shift-esc?
then run a new task : explorer

if there's still nothing, can you tell when this thing started?
What is the last application you've just install?

where should i do the ctrl alt del and ctrl shift esc??
at the loading screen?

the last thing i installed ummm i will try finding out

it worked on sunday then on monday mornin it just wouldnt pass the loading screen :'(

loading screen? i thought it start but theres only frozen blue bar underneath...

the ctrl-alt-del or ctrl-shift-esc are accessible if the blue bar present
what i mean is blue bar below, there's a loading icon in mouse pointer.

the screen is all balck and it says windows xp home edition and at the botto of tht is a bar with three blue lines continuoslly going through it

thats what it wont go past

oic, so the windows doesnt boot properly...
if you able to go to safe mode, maybe you should check:
press winkey + break , advanced, startup
run : services.msc
run : msconfig

check if there any weird or unfamiliar items there.
theres also a possibility your machine is infected by VISTA
(virus, intruder, spyware, trojan, adware) ;)

right click my computer, advanced tabs > startup and recovery
OR
Winkey in your keyboard and Pause/Break (usually beside scr lock)
while i assume youre using standard keyboard, not a laptop keyboard.
