I picked up a WinFast K7S741GXMG motherboard for by brother, intalled it, and transferred his CPU over (1ghz Athon - Socket A). I've done this many times, and not had a problem. However, his computer will not boot at all..display doesn't even get a signal. The mobo is getting power, as the fans are running. There are no beeps or any sounds from the hard drive...the fans just start running, and nothing happens. Resetting the BIOS also did nothing. I thought that maybe I'd fried the CPU, but when I reinstalled the original board, with the original CPU, it booted up fine.
I then thought the mobo was faulty, but when I took it back to the store, it worked fine there. It was a small outfit, and they even let me watch as they installed it.
I'm at a loss as to why it won't run properly in my brother's computer, and was hoping someone here might have an idea.
