Winnt freezing

When I've copied the entire d:\i386 folder to my HDD (same directory), and type winnt.exe, it freezes. And if I run it from the disk, it tells me that 'there is not a valid image of Windows XP on the HDD'

In what environment are you? That command only works from within real DOS, such as in MS-DOS, like from a Win98-bootfloppy, not from within Command-box, such as in NT or W2K or XP.
