WinXp --cannot go beyond desktop

  1. System has worked for months with no problem, but suddenly monitor now goes blank when I try to access a program from the desktop. Boots OK to safe mode. Cannot go online, or run any programs. Have run virus check, "Stinger", System Restore, ConfigSafe, and even tried to restore a complete disk backup from another hard drive,---but nothing works. Winows starts, and then blank--monitor has raster lines but no image. (I think this started when I was using MS Money 2005, but not sure)

While in safe mode, uninstall your video-drivers and revert back to standard VGA.
Try to reboot normally. If all goes well, get the latest drivers for your video-card and install them.
Maybe you should not have wasted your money on M$-Money!

Thanks for the reply----problem has been resolved. Sorry I took so long to reply, but delay was due to moving from Florida to New York for the summer.

I hope everything went ok. It's never fun to move somewhere for just the summer, it's hard to decide what to take and what to leave, if you could leave anything behind anyway.
