I'm having another problem. I bought a new motherboard (asus) and installed it, everything works fine. When I tried to boot windows on my original hdd, it crashed (even on safe mode). I called tech support and they told me I need to reformat my hdd and do a fresh install of windows. The difficulty is I don't have the cd (the comp came with windows on it, no cd). The question is, how do I get the cd from ms without having to buy a new copy? How do I get the license number etc.? I was going to install the drive onto my other comp but I don't know where to look for the windows key (especially since the system on that drive won't be running). Sorry if this is confusing it's a bit of a mess.

20 gig maxtor
