winXP log off right after loading personal setting

  1. HELP!!!! my computer is looped at the user page. when i try to log on to my computer, it just log off and save setting, going back to the log in page. tried running in safe mode, the same thing happens no matter i how i try. im using win XP home.

    What if you log in as another user? Even if there are no other "normal" users, administrator account should be there (although I'm not 100% sure about XP Home).

    To get to the administrator account in Windows XP, press and hold 'F8' whilst your PC is booting, select 'Safe Mode' from the list and the Administrator account should be listed. If you've bought an OEM prepared PC (Dell etc) the Administrator shouldn't have a password, if you've prepped the PC yourself, then you'll know the password if you have one. Adrian.
