I'm running ICS network between 2 PCs. Few weeks back the network slaved PC dropped the internet connection. After many tries of uninstalling/reinstalling the network connections and drivers etc., I discovered the stupid crossover cable connection had broke (1 wire broke inside the connector).
So I fix this and all is fine again, but now in the Network Connects window it shows my 2 on board NICs as Internet5 and LAN6. It seems to remember that I had installed these then removed them etc. Can I just right click and rename them or will this cause Bill Gates to come to my house and slap me, or just XP to delete itself off my HDD??
