Wireless Networking Problem

Hello all,
Here's my problem: I have a desktop w/ XP and a notebook also w/ XP (and wireless card). also have a linksys router. While getting the network setup I have run into the following problems:

I CAN:
access the internet with either machine.
ping localhost
ping the router

I CANNOT:
ping the IP address of either computer
see the other computer in my network places

I've run out of ideas and I'm about to find out what a 35 inch mud tire and some rocks will do to a notebook!! Thanks in advance!

Perhaps you have your windows firewall on, or some other firewall. You'll have to enable ICMP echo request to be able to ping each other if you do. You'll also have to create an exception for File and Printer Sharing to see any shares.
