Wireless router slowing down main internet

    I have bought a D-Link wireless router so that my little brother can have internet on his computer upstairs and since I've been using it, my internet has been dial-up speed. Is there something in the settings I have to tweak or does wireless bring your internet down a notch? :(

    1) schedule a controlled test
    a: you alone & your brother powered off
    b: your brother connected via wireless but doing nothing
    c: your brother surfing or downloading something
    2) use this tool for measurement
    of all three cases.
