WOF: What was the first graphics card you ever owned?

First - some ATI Rage with 2MB of RAM, I think.
Then GeForce 2 MX 400.
Then GeForce 6800GT.
Then GeForce 7800GTX.
In the meantime, Radeon HD3470M (in my notebook, I still own that crap).
Then GeForce 9600GT.
Now Radeon HD5870 (still kicking ***).

Monochrome 8 bit ISA card, 1989 with a 12" monochrome amber monitor. Followed by a CGA graphics card and CGA monitor a year later, followed by a "real" graphics card the "accelerated" Tseng ET4000 VGA graphics card (text acceleration only) and 14" Gold Star VGA monitor a year after that (1991).

ATI X800 Pro 256MB, EVGA 8600GT 512MB in SLI, Powercolor HD4870 1GB, XFX HD6870 1GB and my current card EVGA GTX 660 FTW SIG2 2GB.

The first card I ever owed Intense3D Voodoo some really old one now I have 560ti
Sounds almost like my progression from Orchid Voodoo to a pair of 560Tis; and of all the ones since it's still that first card made the biggest impact on me.

ATI Rage 3D - back in the stone age. ;)

Hahaha, considering my first actual PC (not counting the Commodore 64) was a Pentium 100 Mhz CPU, 8mb RAM, 1 Gb HD, I don't actually know if it had an actual GPU or if it was onboard.

Anyway, my first real GPU (although integrated) was the beastly ATI Rage 128 Pro (AGP 2X) with 8 MB of VRAM inside the iMac G3 450 Mhz DV+. I was still able to play Medal Of Honor on it with like 14 FPS :D

1st Graphics Card Bought- Nvidia MSI GeForce FX5200 128MB (AGP)
2nd Graphics Card Bought - ATI Sapphire X1900XTX 512MB (PCI)
3rd (Current) Graphics Card Bought - ATI 6950 XFX 6950 2GB (PCI)

1. Trident 9685
2. Trident 9750
3. 3DFX voodoo rush
4. Ati All-in-Wonder (Rage 128)

X850 Pro AGP thats still being used to this day, albeit heavily modified in the cooling department. I used it to play Doom 3, HL2, Battlefield 2, ect. It was actually a really fast card, if not one of the fastest when it came out, it lasted me a while before I built a new system using PCIE. A pair of 8800GT's came next, also still being used to this day, then a pair of HD5870's and finally a HD6850 for my portable mini PC. Prior to me purchasing cards I remember a Voodoo FX in a P1 and then an MX440 in a Dell. Waiting for the next gen of cards to replace my 5870's which will then be passed down my PC ladder. I've also had a 9650 AGP but it died of overheat issues inside of that Dell.

I'm pretty young, so my first few computers had integrated cards, but my first discrete GPU was the XFX Radeon 6790 Double D.

As far as 'real' cards (dedicated), here it goes:

Nvidia 6200TC
Nvidia 8400GS
Nvidia 9800GT (BIG jump in performance, haha)
ATI Radeon HD5450
AMD HD6770 (current)

Prior to my S3 in 95 I didn't even know you could buy discreet video cards as an add-in.

ATI VGA Wonder 256Kmemory. Came with my Zeos 386-20 which I purchased for $4,750 in 1985. Still works perfectly today. Spectrum Holobyte Vette! looks great on my NEC 3D monitor next to Dirt3 on my i7-3930K triple-monitor GTX680 FTW 4Gb tri-SLI
