WOF: What was the first graphics card you ever owned?

I had computers with GPUs in them but the first one I ever really bought and put in my PC was 6800 GT, wow I was happy, I thought I was running in beast mode haha

I have no idea...
first PC was an olivetti 286 probably..
my second was a olivetti 386sx.. have no idead what "gpu" hihi it had...

I do remember buying an ATi Rage Pro when it wasn't even in the news magazines . it was so high tech... that no games even supported it... hahaha... wasn't this kind of card that had.. 3dfx support in some games?...

ATi Radeon 9200 SE--> ATi Radeon 9800 PRO --> Nvidia 6600GT (9800 Pro fan melted off and had little money to replace it)--> Now recently made a new rig last year with Nvidia 560Ti

First 3D card was the original Geforce 1 card. Called the Geforce 32 if I remember correctly!

Seems I am the only one whose first card was Diamond Viper V550. Even several years later it ran AvP 2 smoothly.

Geforce 4 MX440, 5200, GTS250, 560Ti...

First was an S3, I remember snapping in the extra ram into the cradles.

Had so many different PC's and cards over the years but ended up with a 6990 - now I don't need heating for my lounge the card takes care of that.

FX5200

upgraded to a new rig and a HD2600 XT

then a laptop with the 5650m

and on to a 7850 now

+1 to all you other old people who said PC XT/AT with Hercules mono, Trident, TNT and the like from the earliest PCs.

When I was in high school, I saved all my money from holidays just to get my Sapphire Radeon 9250 with 256 MB VRAM!!!. Actually it was the budget price the reason I get, but being on Mexico and having a big family, it was a luxury to have a graphics card, at least I could play Sims 2 with a good speed(I didn't know about FPS) even with some low settings, but damn, those were good times.

Blackmagic 3D Voodoo 2......still have it wrapped in bubble wrap somewhere in a drawer. It was amazing for its time!

ATI Radeon X1600, with my own money :)
Super video cable was so epic back then

I have always used NVIDIA from the moment I had a 32 MB and now I have a GeForce 9500GT
I've had 54MB 128 256MB 512 and now about 1GB video memory long time

I had a similar experience with my first card, the GeForce 256. All my GeForce cards have aged well.

I think I was first using the 256 for Fallout, Baldur's Gate.. et al Bioware games, and Half Life. Also a long lost copy of the Bard's Tale that my older brother had apparently lost in my closet long ages past. Dusted the card off for Star Wars Galaxies, quite happily, after the new Radeon I had at the time stopped working.

Radeon... fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I'm only just a fool!
