WOF: What's your take on the Xbox One X?

Good luck with that - your opponent is incapable of reason and usually resorts to reductive responses and telling you to 'learn to read' when you disagree with him

Incorrect. I only use that response when they can't read.

See: Times I've disagreed with people who can read.

You're arguing with yourself. I simply replied to a specific comment you made vaguely stating that "there was no reason to buy either console aside from bundles and the controller." The last link I posted clearly shows that your argument for bundles selling more consoles, wasn't a good one.

Dude, stop with the sales pages. Your sales page game is weak. Like, twice marked down on clearance weak.

Amazon is bigger than Best Buy. Their sales page has, wait for it...

Really bud? Did you just try to imply that more marketing = better marketing??

Really bud? I argued the complete opposite...
Did you even read what I was replying to?

Man, the second you called out who "won" and "lost" and said you "destroyed" his argument (the one where he rips your narrative apart that "exclusives are why people pick PS4") you lost the argument. "It's 100% common sense" lol

Ps. it can be argued that you lost quite a while ago, and davislane1 is just humoring himself by continuing this :p

He ripped nothing of mine apart. He attempted so many angles he thought one would get him any of his dignity back. It failed.

You argued what the complete opposite?
And be specific here, because I've already outlined that you're argument against davislane1's "Sony has better marketing" argument is "but I've seen more Xbox commercials than PS4"...

He did. You're unsubstantiated claims that he "failed" mean nothing in an argument. You said people buy PS4 because of the games, and he showed a survey claiming the complete opposite (which is more than your constantly refuted claims).

You can say what you want, but unless you start bringing unrefutable facts, your arguments are dead in the water.

Oh wow. What part of what he posted showed games didn't sell consoles? Remember, little is made from the console itself and many articles are written on it. Also remember, what is the biggest reason to buy a console if both play a lot of the same games?

GO!

Otherwise, congrats on another deflect with no substance. Until you answer what I asked, consider this the end of the thread here too :p

What marketing? Just saying marketing doesn't make it credible. E3 and PAX have some of the biggest marketing because of gameplay and games, and as a result, 60 million PS4's have been sold vs 27 for XBOX. I've only been on the side of the Playstation, so if you thought otherwise, you'd be mistaken.

I'm just waiting for the day Microsoft realizes that it should have put all of it's efforts into one operating system that would be super adaptable to the use case scenario. This way they would have not wasted time on garbage like the Xbox operating system that ends up getting thrown out because no one wants to program for the hardware anymore.

The new Xbox isn't anything special, just another iteration we all saw coming. It's about where the xbox one was when it launch in comparison to PCs.

The hardware looks good, but it's not a major jump over 2013's consoles, and it probably won't last long enough in the market to justify the price. And 4k is still a ludicrous render target.

I'm mainly a PC Gamer, If I can get a game on PC, I almost always will get that version.
However, over the various years I have owned an Original Xbox/360 and PS1/2/3/4.
The reason I haven't bothered picking up an Xbox One is because I feel the games simply aren't there or if they are, I can get them on PC, Which I do (Titanfall 2, GoW for example) If they can change that then yeah, sure, I'll get an Xbox One X. It's got some pretty tough games to beat though (Uncharted, The Last of Us, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian for examples). I did also buy a PlayStation for Destiny but I'll definitely be getting Destiny 2 on PC.

Bad marketing happened to Microsoft. You don't "take" marketing. You either execute it very well or very poorly. It has to do with quality, not quantity.

Marketing drives sales. No marketing, no sales. Good marketing, high sales. Poor marketing, low sales. Simple.
Marketing is but one facet of what drives sales. Price is another, one that most pundits believe to be a larger factor this round in the console war between Sony and Microsoft.

The Xbox1 launched at $100 more than the PS4, many due to a mandatory peripheral, and was less powerful than the PS4.

https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/...al-of-kinect-but-the-ps4-is-still-miles-ahead

Once the Kinect was unbundled and the price lowered it stemmed the bleeding but it was too late. No amount of Marketing was going to push the Kinect and the $100 premium.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these last seven days, you’ll have no doubt heard about the Xbox One X.
Looks like a lot of your average people are living under a rock because, yes, not many people have heard about this new console or care, even your average gamer.

I wonder if this will lead to the gaming console market becoming like the PC market where instead of just Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo...you'll have other OEMs like HP, Dell (yes I know they technically make Steam machines), Acer, ASUS, Lenovo...etc making gaming consoles all based on PC architecture.
