Word experienced an error while trying to open the file.

Does anyone have any suggestions has to how to fix this. Also there isn't reason why this should have happened. All I did was add two paragraphs to the file, save it, and shut down the computer. The next day it came up with that error.

No idea why that would happen but try www.openoffice.org to open the file. Download the package, it's compatible with Word and it's free.

Thanks for the reply but I've fixed the file now, with a word file repair program. I still dont no why the error happened in the first place though.

No it only happened with one file. So far anyway.
