Hello everyone, newbie tech here.

I'm looking for some worthwhile upgrades for my computer this holiday season, and I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions. I use my computer mostly for gaming, if it helps.

Here are my specs: Dell Dimension 4550, Windows XP, 1024 RAM, 120GB storage, I believe my BIOS is Mitac International A01., Pentium 4 processor, 250 watt power supply.

Also I was wondering, does upgrading a power supply necessitate buying a new case?

Thanks for your help, and sorry if theres any info I neglected to mention.

Best bangs for the buck is a better graphics card - you need to check the motherboard to see what slots you have; suspect AGP x8 - if in doubt check the manual.

If the new PSU doesn't fit in your case, then it may indeed be a better idea to get a new case. You have to make sure that your motherboard fits in the new case too :)

You are lucky to have a Dell that seems to usea standard PSU instead of a Dell prorietary one :)
