Would like to make a forum!!

Please could you help i would like to make a forum such as the techspot forum but on a much smaller scale, my forum will be for my friends to use trouble is i dont even know where to begin. If you could show me step by step on how to make one that would be great or a website that shows me. Even information on where to begin would be great.
