  1. no matter how many times i clean the drive it will still come up with this error. i can't figure out what is going on. i am able to convert the movie just fine but when it comes times to write to blank dvd, it won't do it. this is the problem i am having on my laptop which i will include the log. for some reason on my pc the program convertxtodvd doesn't even acknowledge that i have a dvd drive , i believe it is the pcouffin, which i have uninstalled and reinstalled but i cannot get it to work. it says it is working fine but device no longer available. well here is the log from my laptop which will convert but will not finish the copy.

Replace the laptops burner... Laptop/notebook CD/DVD R/W's are very delicate and are more subject to failure than desktop writers

Hey Jbonz81... I'm Having The EXACT Same Problem!!
Appart From Your Log File, Its Like I Wrote Your Question!!!
I'm Also Getting "Write error at 0 (16) - Code 03 73 03 [Medium error, Power calibration fail (CD-burner is Dirty)" When Using ConvertXtoDvD??
I Never Used To Get Any Problems Until Recently.
I've Read And Acted On All The Advice In Other Forums As Follows-
    1) Lower The Right Speed
I Lowered The Right Speed To 2.4x With NO LUCK!!
    2) Change The Media Type
I Was Told One Of The Best Blank DvD Disc Brands, Among Others, Were VERBATIM (Taiyo Yuden) So I Got Some. Still NO LUCK!!
    3)Get A Lens Cleaner
I Bought A Philips CD/DvD Lens Cleaner.. Wacked It In And BINGO!!!
NO Error Message!!! Burnt Three DvDs!!
    Woke Up This Morning.. And..
    Write error at 0 (16) - Code 03 73 03
[Medium error,Power calibration fail (CD-burner is dirty)]
NO WAY!! Got The Cleaner Out.. NO LUCK THIS TIME.
Arrrggghhh I'm Back To Square One!!!
If You Get To The Bottom Of This Let Me Know.. Before I Throw My Lap Top Through The Window!! Cheers!! =) JY
