I have a Pentium 4, 1.6 GHz with Win XP Home. For the last two weeks
I have been having a start up problem. When I start the computer
the XP logo screen appears and goes no further. I have to go into
safe mode and then restart from there to get the computer to boot up.

I went into event viewer and found the same 2 errors keep showing up.
They are:

VSS

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040206.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

EVENT SYSTEM

The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 8007043C from line 44 of d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I need help to solve this problem.

Thanks, Jerry

Google it. Problem seems related to the service of that name. Try to disable it if it's turned on, or set it to "manual" if turned off.

I don't understand what you mean my google it. Disable what?

Never heard about Google ?

I'm talking about the Volume Shadow Copy Service. You find the services if you click Start, then Execute... and type "msconfig". Go to the services tab and uncheck/check the service depending on what it's set to right now.
Or better get some more information on this matter via Google or something else, because I'm not really sure about it.
