XP hangs on shut down

  1. I've searched Google but I've not found a fix for me.

    I guess you know what I'm gonna say and thats when I choose shut down or restart, it gets to saving settings and then just hangs there so I have to press the restart switch or turn it off from the PSU. Any ideas how I fix this?

    I have the same problem,but in my case it doesnt happend always but just like 50% of all the shutdowns.

    Hi,
    There is a known problem with shutdown problems with Win 98 (and maybe with 2000 and XP)so go to www.microsoft.com and see what you can find.
