my windows keeps on restarting
to check the hardware i installed another hard drive and install xp on it
that works great.
so there is no hard ware issues i assume
i installed partitionMagic and check the the drive with bad windows on it and everthing looks good
So now i have two drive c: and d:
both has got windows xp and d: is working fine and c: keeps on rebooting
i tried to repair that as explained on this forum but after installing neccesary files for update the computer restart and then it keeps restarting
i tried to boot in safe mode but it say

WINDOWS XP SETUP CANNOT RUN IN SAFE MODE COMPUTER IS REBOOTING

and it keeps rebooting

i tried to disable automatic restart from advance startup mode
then it gives me this error

Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem
could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware

check windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware refrence manual for additional information.

wierd

i ran console it see c:\windows
and all its directories

i edited boot.ini file from d: drive
i ran fixboot

no effect

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME.

This is inaccurate at best. If a machine is having problems it is not from SP2...

patio.

I had this same problem bout a year ago with my old computer.

Funny how that happens.
My alternative is not using windows at all.
Duel boot is cool because if you pc does that then you still have another clean partition to do say, somthing for work.
