XP on SATA HDD??

  1. Hello, I recently purchases an ASUS 8aV deluxe mobo and am trying to install XP Pro on it. The HDD is an SATA and it looks like XP doesn't know how to install on to it because its not connected via IDE. Does anyone have any advice or experiences with this situation that can help me? Thank you in advance. This is driving me insane.

You need to have the via sata drivers on a floppy, then load them at the beginning of the XP install process (it will ask you to hit F6 to load 3rd party drivers).

Thanks Didou. Would you happen to know exactly what files I need to copy onto the floppy? I googled VIA SATA drivers and found what I was looking for, however, its a 7MB folder. Thanks for your help.
