XP Pro for $99?

  1. I was reading an article in maximum pc about building a $1500 pc. Anyway one of the components was xp pro oem. It said the price was $99. Where did he get this for that price? I want it.

    There is o way he could have got it for that if he bought it legally. He may ave done an upgrade in which case he could have bought it:HERE

    Don't be rude about it. And if you are going to have that attitide, don't expect someone to track something down and read it, the least you can do is provide a link. The burden of proof is on you. Why don't YOU write to Maximum PC and ask them?

    Newegg will sell XP Pro to you as OEM for $144 after $5 instant savings. XP Home for $89, and XP Media Center for $109. Perhaps there are places cheaper, but I'd expect Newegg's prices are on the low end of average, OEM prices may even be standardized and set by Microsoft.
