XP repair hangs at 34 minutes

I was trying to do a repair of XP but my installation keeps hanging at 34 minutes. Im fine with just doing a clean install, but everytime I restart I automatically get put back into the repair install. How can I just do a clean install?

Boot off the CD, format your drive (this will erase all data)
ensure you have all drivers handy that you will need.
If your board needs a bios update then install your new bios first.
read the guide in the guides forum about installing bios. IF it ain't broke, don't update it.
Once drive is formatted, install windows.

There is a method to solve this that does not require a reformat.

Is your board running Dual Channel RAM?

Whip out 1 stick & try again. Hopefully it'll complete this time and you can re insert the ram when it's done.

I don't know why, but XP Installs hang sometimes when running Dual Channel.
