XP still freezes during installation

When I am installing Windows XP on my new system it freezes when it is "loading information file setupp.ini..."

Does anyone have an idea why that is happening and what I can do to fix the problem?

Maxtor Sata 100gig
1gig corsair ramm

the motherboard may not recognize the SATA drive. ensure your drivers are loaded for it during installation.
Also ASUS motherboards are finicky about memory. RTFM and see if your brand is compatible.
