Xp suddenly lost internet connection

Hi all im new to the forum :bounce:
I have xp running sp2 and a smc barricade router. After a reboot i suddenly cant browse the web and messenger wont connect. But wait it gets stranger...
PeerGuardian updates just fine and the pc can be accessed with my wireless laptop running the same router. Laptop runs just fine too. So im guessing it not the router. Normaly i find that most errors are caused by me being stupid, but this time i cant figure out what gives ?

Well Tuneup fixed it, dont know what was wrong :rolleyes:

just fyi: sometimes the DHCP will get refreshed but fail to find the DNS.
in such cases restarting the modem will reacquire it correctly.
The request to find the DNS will fail IF the reply doesn't come before the
timeout period - - just be cause it was too busy at that moment.

in your case, looks like there was a config tweak that got resolve by
TuneUp.
