XP's default language

Is there a way to change the windows XP home's default language? that is the language that the actual xp is in. The reason i ask is that i perchased a german laptop but i am australian so cannot read half the menus and stuff

If you click start/settings/contol panel, then double click on the regional and language icon. You should be able to set your preferences from there.
