I want to know if anyone has any insight on which dvd burner is an overall better burner?
It is the pioneer dvr -110d and the lite on 1693s. Anyone care to comment on what they know?

I know very little about Pioneer Optical Drives. But I've lots of experience with LiteOn Optical Drives, and I can't say I've seen one go bad yet.

    I'd go for the LiteOn.

Pioneer makes very good drives. Lite On drives are also excellent. and unlike pioneer the Lite On's support bitsetting. Bitsetting allows you to burn a DVd+R or DVD-R and have a DVD player see it as a DVD Rom and not a DVD+R or DVD-R, this increases compaitability with stand alone DVD players which dont support certain formats.
