    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.

On the righthand side of your computer there is a tray, for the cd/dvd drive.

There will either be a button that causes the drive to open automatically, or you may have to push the tray in, and it will pop open.

You should then be able to insert a cd/dvd into the slot and close the tray.

    Regards Howard

    Thanks for letting us know.

Can you explain in what way the dvd-rom is defective?

This would help other members who are having the same problem.

Thanks and regards Howard :) :)

sorry everyone but the ze2000 has to go back for repair. what it was doing was when she opened the cd tray it would open but in the center of the tray would stick up so much you could not get a cd in it. she sent the comp to a hp repair shop. thanks to everyone.
