Lol, actually they are, my cpu's a prescott core, which is hot, and my video card is unlocked from a 6200 to a 6600 and overclocked, which makes it run hot as well. It can use all the air it can get.

WHAT A MESS who built that...defiantly looks custom built but in a bad way....you have all the cabling tied up wrong and will cause an increase in temperature....... there is a saying the way a man builds his computer is the way he builds his life..and i can pretty much guess...never mind...anyway later guys

A mess? It looks ok to me. It gets plenty of airflow, the only way you could have a serious temp problem would be if you had so many wires that the entire fan would be blocked. Also, the case is micro atx and dell, so it is harder to re-route cables. Suggest to me where else the cables could go. They don't fit under the board, and the cd drives/floppy drive don't have any room around them.

Never heard of it. I don't believe a "untidy" computer leads to a messed up life.

Dude is that a Cooler Master cpu cooler??? I think I have the same one, it runs awesome, my 2.67 Celly D is running at 25C load after 3 hours, AWESOME!

The ram's in the red slots, if you really look you can see the black chips on the one side.

It is a coolermaster cpu cooler, it's a "x dream III". It looks nice, and works "ok". I've since changed the cpu to a 2.4ghz prescott, so now I have the stock prescott cooler on it.

I think it's sweet, reminds me of my friends E-machine. Just used the case, and has a asus mobo, a 3700+, 2 gigs of ocz and a 6600 gt. Just bust it out at a lan and people laugh at you because they think it's junk. Then u fire it up and it's like BAM, and if that guy wants to see bad cable management, I'll show him a pic of my pc. I try but I just can't do it.

THE ANTI: You must have a defective brain cause that computer looks to have a REALLY NICE setup inside of it, I mean look at mine (see Coolmatt's Computer Part 1). That computer of mine has POOR wiring, which I fixed very recently. I'm getting a new case, PSU, fans and etc to make it look all purdy and nicerer :P. Anyhow NICE job with the computer. You must have a very good life as said by THE ANTI's quote lol.

The ram is installed, you have to look close since my sticks are orange/red and match the slots they're in. If you look, the slot cover is missing for the graphics card. I took the pic right before my card installation. I put in a agp 6200 card, which I unlocked to a 6600 and overclocked. If you want to see the card, here's the pic.

^That pic is when I switched cpus, from a 1.8ghz p4 to a 2.4ghz p4, so no cpu in the pic.

Why is the RAM placed like that? It looks like a newer mobo, doesn't it have a dual-channel feature? Most the boards I've worked with only activate dual channel in neighboring dimms.

It is dual channel, the board says to put the ram in "same colored" slots, which would be how I have them in. I actually like how the memory is laid out on the board. Having them in every other slot would be handy if you had large memory sticks(like those with bigger heatspreaders, leds, heatpipes, or watecooling).

Ahoy... That is SEXY!!! Man I wish I had the funding to do that to my 2400... In the end how much did EVERYTHING modded in that PC cost you? And would it be cheaper to do something similar to my 2400, or just build a new computer?

gigabyte mobo, about $85

3 fans, $24

3 ide cables, $20

Leadtek 6200 agp card, $105



So, out of pocket ~$235



I previously replaced the power supply with an antec 350w, which was probably ~$50. So I guess that could be counted in as well.



Some other parts I "had lying around."



Oh, and here's a picture of my mod before I did the window, I think it looks nice.

I agree it does look nice, even despite its being a dell, as other people wouldn't like... I personally (probably because that's all I have had) think the dell cases are nice. Simple, yet sleek That side fan adds a little spice to the regular one ^^
