People reported not being able to OC very high because the northbridge on the P4P800 got too hot. I'm gonna try slapping a fan on that and seeing if it helps OC any I'm shooting for a 1GHz overclock.

Nice Overclocking Vehementi . I have another computer with the same specs like yours and I only managed to get the FSB to 255mhz. Can you please tell me what have you set the Vcore and Vdimm and Performance acc and Memory acceleration please. Any other comments is greatly appreciated thank you.

Hey zero - and thanks.



I had the VCore set to 1.6V, up from the default 1.525. The problem with raising the VCore, is that my PSU tacks on another .05V to whatever I set, so in reality I was running a Vcore of 1.65V.



The Vdimm was 2.6 or 2.7 - I can't remember and I'm not overclocking now so I can't check. But, my memory could handle up to 2.8V I'm sure, I just don't need it that high.

Performance was set to Turbo and Memory Acceleration was on.



I read in your profile that you have Kingston HyperX memory - which is fairly nice for overclocking. What speed is it?



255MHz FSB overclock isn't anything to be ashamed of.



Heh - get this everyone. I was able to boot with my P4 at 3.7GHz but Windows XP completely freaked out and said system files were missing. I was naturally pissed, and of course it worked fine once I clocked it back down. Gah.

Thanks Vehementi for sparing your free time answering my questions. Actually I am overclocking my friends computer who owns a P4P800 deluxe and OCZ PC4000 dual gold. I set his vcore to 1.575v and his Vdimm to 2.85v and managed to overclock to 255 FSB. But when I try to upper the fsb to 260 I will not succeed to enter in my windows startup. I will try to increase the Vcore more maybe 1.65v max, however cpu temperature is very good, not oced, P4 2.6c he use to have 19-22c idle and load 30c. Oced I havent checked yet. But he owns a Zalman Cnps 7000 cu and I think it really makes a good job for cooling if you apply a good thermal compound and apply it carefully. Thanks Vehementi, I will try to upper his vcore and will keep in touch ;-)

25C? Nice 1 man, add 40C to that and you'll hav my temp (V.Unstable). What's your case temp?



PS: 'Zero' how much did ur friend get the dual channel PC4000 OCZ Ram for?

Zero, I never got past bootup at over 1.6V Vcore. You might be able to, but I didn't.



IMB - I have Dual Channel OCZ PC4000 too, and it was $140 for 2x256MB sticks at newegg.

One of these days I should get around to trying for more. I've been running my machine 24/7 and haven't gotten around to overclocking any more.
