In a series of search operations conducted last week in the Philippines, AMD seized 30 bogus chips from four PC shops in Manila city, reported local daily The Philippines Enquirer.

Re-marked chips are older, slower CPUs which have been modified and repackaged so they can be sold as faster, more expensive processors. According to the report, AMD's Duron and Athlon line of processors were among those which have been re-marked in the Philippines.
