Sony has officially announced that US and European release dates for the handheld Playstation console have been pushed back until 2005 while the company prepares more and better software for the console.

Expectations are high for the PSP, already touted by PlayStation guru Ken Kutaragi as "the Walkman of the 21st century" for its ability to play games, movies and music.

In the meantime, a release date for the Japanese market doesn't seem to have changed and the console could be making it by the end of the year there.

 1. Sucks it was delayed, but hey - Whatever it takes to be the best ;)
 2. So they'll release a japanese version soon, and they are waiting to get better software for the EU and US versions...doesn't make much sence, but as long as it's a superb handheld :)
 3. Are they giving pricing estimates on the units yet?
 4. $200-$300 I believe. Hopefully the price will drop a few months after its out -- But never the less, this baby will diliver your $$$ to where it counts.
